The Origin of Hodl

It was one fateful day on Reddit. When one drunk and clearly emotionally unstable Reddit User made a post. He was so distraught, drunk and crazy that he wrote “hodl” 3 times and still spelled it wrong, and at the 3rd attempt just left it.

His girlfriend was at a Lesbian bar and BTC was crashing and yet he was still holding. His reasons? Because he’s a ‘bad trader’. He stressed that he understood that every ‘good trader’ was selling but he was going to hold. He gave an amazing rant about how ‘they seem to know’ just when to sell or when to buy, but he was going to hodl and that was that.  This was at 3:30 on Dec.  18 2013. Had he sold, he would have regretted his entire existence.

The rest went down in hodling history. This drunk reddit user was the smartest bitcoiner alive.

Because as we all know, Dec 2018 was a very good year for BTC- a recording setting good year.

But what is this user doing now? Is he hodling still or has he since the cashed in his profits? Since Dec 2018, we have seen the most unusual pattern for BTC, completely stable at $6k which has never happened in Bitcoin history.

So are you holding? Or are you hodling?
